Date of capture
[edit]Hi, from https://twitter.com/Militarylandnet/status/1567456850727129088 I would assess that the defenders of Balaklia left overnight and did not defend the city another day, and that the articles of the Telegraph are in error.
Capitalisation
[edit]Per MOS:CAPS: only words and phrases that are consistently capitalized in a substantial majority of independent, reliable sources are capitalized in Wikipedia.
A search of news sources reveals that no WP:RSs have used this phrase, let alone that it meets the threshold for capitalisation. Consequently, battle is not capitalised in the phrase "battle of Balakliia". MOS:CAPS creates a burden to establish that capitalisation is required by way of evidence meeting the threshold. Also, WP:GS/RUSUKR applies to this page. Cinderella157 (talk) 23:22, 18 August 2023 (UTC)

I am proposing a merge of Battle of Balakliia into 2022 Kharkiv counteroffensive
The actual substance of this article is quite small and almost all of it is already covered in the target article. It is not apparent to me why the events at Balakliia are notable enough to warrant a standalone article separate from the larger military operation. I welcome my fellow editors' opinions on this – SaintPaulOfTarsus (talk) 05:26, 1 May 2024 (UTC)
- Also, the situation has not changed since the previous comment was made in August 2023 – "battle of Balakliia" has yet to appear in RS, based on my searches. SaintPaulOfTarsus (talk) 05:44, 1 May 2024 (UTC)
