Creation of this article
[edit]On 18 January 2013 the information used to create this article was cut from the Battle of Mughar Ridge article without consultation. It was also done without any care or interest in preserving the relationship between these two articles. There is no proper introduction, no background and no prelude sections to explain the article. The Mughar Ridge article is not even mentioned once in the Ayun Kara stub. --Rskp (talk) 05:40, 19 November 2013 (UTC)
- Further, the Battle of Ayun Kara forms an integral part in the Battle of Mughar Ridge as Allenby's plans make clear.
Allenby's plan for 13 November was to turn the right flank of the Ottoman line on the coast, despite aircraft and cavalry reconnaissances revealing the large Ottoman force, inland on his right flank facing the Australian Mounted Division. Indeed the division was ordered to make as big a demonstration of their activities, as possible, to focus Ottoman attention away from the coastal sector. Here Allenby planned for the Anzac and Yeomanry Mounted Divisions to advance northwards to attempt to turn the Ottoman right flank, assisted by infantry attacks on the Ottoman right centre. [Preston 1921, p. 76, Wavell 1968, p. 151] The Battle of Ayun Kara turned the right flank of the Ottoman line on the coast, and this article should be returned to the Battle of Mughar Ridge article, WHERE IT RIGHTLY BELONGS. --Rskp (talk) 05:06, 21 November 2013 (UTC)
