A fact from Battle Metal appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 11 August 2013 (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:
The genre should be added. It's completely natural with genres to overlap, but now it seems that every time someone creates it, some guardian and overlord of genre definitions removes it. Whether a "real" subgenre or not, to many the word itself refers to more than just an album. The article should include the controversy about the whole thing. It is more about the concept of the word than about a genre per se. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.16.103.20 (talk) 00:57, 19 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I had the article deleted - it failed WP:V and WP:NEO. There was no references to it ever being used as an actual genre. It's not a genre at all, just Turisas trying to make their music appear more unique than it really is - like the album Love Metal with HIM. ≈ The Haunted Angel01:47, 19 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
