Terminology for unbalanced service

[edit]

Regarding this edit. The only CrossCountry train to serve Bath Spa is the 06:09 (SX) Bath Spa - Glasgow Central (WTT no. 1S35) which is unbalanced; that is, I can't find the corresponding arrival at Bath Spa. Although it is a one-way service, I feel that showing Terminus is appropriate since that is consistent with the other British railway stations, which show Terminus at both ends of a route. I know of no other page where "Starts Here" is shown. --Redrose64 (talk) 16:19, 7 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I think I added terminus for Nottingham for the daily Nottingham - Bournemouth service, which is unbalanced iirc. -mattbuck (Talk) 21:40, 9 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Green Park

[edit]

This is a bit hair-splitting, but:

I am uncomfortable with Green Park being called "the Midland Region station". From 1948 until (when was it? ... ) 1963 I suppose it was the London Midland Region station, but by closure it was WR. But that's not really the point. Locally in the 1960s it was referred to either as Green Park station or "the LMS station". I'll edit in a compromise wording that won't offend anyone, I hope. Incidentally I know everyone loves the S&D but this article is actually about Bath Spa station.

The wide spacing between the track isn't "because the line was originally broad gauge"; it's because there were two sidings in the middle.

Bit uncomfortable with the ha'penny bridge text as well ... we're in danger of descending into twee territory. I'll try a compromise wording there too.Afterbrunel (talk) 16:11, 19 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
