Requested move
[edit]Batavia, New York → Batavia (town), New York – I'm not sure what the heck happened here, but we've got a serious problem. Batavia, New York is currently about the town of Batavia, but I find it nearly impossible to believe that the town is the primary topic over the enclave city within it. Worse, Talk:Batavia, New York, the talk page for where the town article currently sits, redirects here, to the city article's talk page. Something got screwed up in the recent moves and it's not pretty. I hope someone can straighten everything out without losing the page histories. Powers T 16:44, 21 November 2011 (UTC)
- Support. This was a dumb move and was then complicated by an even dumber move of a different page back over the original. The referenced discussion at Wikipedia talk:Disambiguation pages with links/New York villages within towns applied specifically to villages and not to cities. older ≠ wiser 04:12, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
- I have moved Batavia, New York → Batavia (town), New York and Batavia (city), New York → Batavia, New York I believe that has addressed the issue. Alpha_Quadrant (talk) 21:17, 30 November 2011 (UTC)
Origin of Name
[edit]The origin of the name in the opening paragraph differs somewhat from the origin of the name in the History section. The latter is more accurate; that is, Batavia comes from Batavi, a Germanic tribe. The name, Betuwe, derives from Batavia, not the other way around. PlaysInPeoria (talk) 23:16, 18 March 2013 (UTC)
Missing
