Release date

[edit]

I'm changing the release date from 2005 to 2006. Yes, the IMDB article says 2005, but the movie itself has a fancy Fuqua films logo, "Copyright 2006" at the end. According to IMDB the film was screened at the Tribeca film festival in 2005 but wasn't released until 2006. --AStanhope 18:04, 11 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I thought it was a little weird that there was such a huge gap between what the IMDB article said and the actual tv premiere of the film. Thanks for clearing that up. --Makaio 19:18, 11 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Davis Quote

[edit]

The quote attributed to Davis is all over the internet as a result of the movie's PR campaign, but the book itself does not include the quoted text at all. The closest I can find is on page 298: "As even The [Los Angeles] Times recognized, the decimation of the Panthers led directly to a recrudescence of gangs in the early 1970s. ‘Crippin,’ the most extraordinary new gang phenommenon was a bastard offspring of the Panthers’ former charisma, filling the void left by the LAPD SWAT teams. " Unless someone can point me to the oft repeated PR quote, I am going to change it in the article. --Chris902 (talk) 04:47, 1 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
