Notability

[edit]

During my studies at the university, Rabbi Baruch Shalom's name was mentioned several times as an important personality in the Kabbalah of the 20th century. There is no doubt that he is notable in his own right, thanks to his explications on the writings of his father, and his innovations in Lurianic and Ashlagian Kabbalah. --Eranio 16:45, 20 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Very well, but sources have to be brought for the information added. Thanks! -- Avi 03:38, 22 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I didn't know that wiki demands academic standarts (In many articles here there are no ref' at all) . Anyhow, Right now i'm pretty busy with a few papers I need to give in to uni. I will work on the ref's ASAP --Eranio 15:56, 22 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. I think you built a strong enough case that I won't nominate this for WP:Afd. Regarding the sources, see Yehuda Ashlag, that should give you some idea. Good luck with your papers. -- Avi 16:16, 22 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I know I said I'll need some time, but I just couldn't help myself, so I did it now :)--Eranio 19:27, 22 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You're becoming a wikiholic--careful--it's a terminal condition ;) -- Avi 19:29, 22 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thank's! I see it as a compliment. :)
But now I really have to work on my papers... Thank you for your serious and correct approach. --Eranio 20:24, 22 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This article is not accurate according to information on the web vis a vs R. Laitman's financial support. The "inner circle" of Bnei Baruch are said to donate a tenth of their parnassa to the Bnei Baruch society at the discretion of Michael Latiman. Fees are also generated by Congresses. His works and recordings are largely distributed for free but we can conclude that he is financially subsidized by the organization. He is not a "luftmensch". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.79.137.108 (talk) 02:16, 10 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Text on successor named Michael Laitman: Lacks documentation, is too long

[edit]

In the section of the Baruch Ashlag article titled "Successors," there is an extended text concerning one successor or alleged successor, Michael Laitman. The text makes some very critical allegations regarding Michael Laitman, allegations with attack the integrity and ethics of Michael Laitman. Yet, despite the strong criticism, no sources for the alleged facts are given. There's in no way for the reader to evaluate the harsh criticisms made against Michael Laitman.

Therefore, on this basis alone, I propose that the extended text on Michael Latiman be removed.

Furthermore, such an extended discussion on Michael Laitman seems out of place in an article on Baruch Ashlag, but rather belongs in a separate article on Michael Laitman, and, that article should follow Wikipedia standards regarding documentation.

This is a second reason that I propose that the extended text on Michael Latiman be removed from this article on Baruch Ashlag. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Credidimus (talkcontribs) 03:19, 30 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
