Family Tree

[edit]

It took me a few days to make (my first family tree attempt), but I finished the family tree, according to the marriages/births listed on the article. The person who gave me the most trouble figuring out how to set up the tree was John Barrymore (Drew's father), since he had children from 4 different women...what a nightmare. Anyways, I hope it helps someone out. --sumnjim talk with me·changes 16:17, 12 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

the tree is off kilter after the second(?) generation and should be adjusted to the right a bit. I don't want to screw with something I don't know about.--anon 8/2/07
The tree looks fine to me, maybe you could define exactly where you mean, and maybe a suggestion on how to change it? --sumnjim talk with me·changes 17:28, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The family tree might benefit from a different more traditional genealogical format as that found on other ancestry related web sites. GEDCOM would be especially useful. If the current format is a limitation of wikipedia, then may create the tree in an ancestory/genealogical software package if available. You get what you pay for though. I am includinf a link to a quick proof of concept: Barrymore Family Tree on Ancestory.com

Having gone to all that trouble to research, why not go a little further and include birth and death years? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.136.59.49 (talk) 09:39, 23 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This article is incomplete. It refers only to the American Barrymore's. The family were actors in the UK for generations before that. They should really be described as a UK/US acting family.

About a decade later I've revised this; the existing version had some issues with it (see https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Barrymore_family&oldid=776915488) and - although those issues appear to be due to the last editor making some random changes that broke it - I didn't realize that until after I wrote my revision and updated the page). I think having the chart be vertically aligned might be a better choice given how many people are on it. If anyone has any issues with it, let me know. If people prefer the old version (back when it was working on https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Barrymore_family&oldid=774178620), I can revert it back, but I'm not sure if that version is still up-to-date. Contradiction

[edit]

The Wikipedia article John Drew Barrymore says Jaid was his third wife, not fourth. That contradicts the order in the article here — pretty much nothing of which is cited, so this article is of dubious factualness.--209.122.114.237 (talk) 17:59, 30 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

My suspicion is that it's not the order that is wrong, but rather that Jessica was illegitimate, so her parents' relationship is not a marriage. But what's needed here are some citable sources. - Nunh-huh

Insiders

[edit]

For the reasons listed above do people take to camping so much with themselves like real families do. The only way the people can be in charge over the conduct placed on the way the people operate in public is to get at the heart of any good situation. In other words, fact check every name and number and you can find out these people never lived together. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:301:7751:160:3C04:704D:4DD4:4198 (talk) 15:57, 10 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

William Edward Blythe relationship to others?

[edit]

The article's main section begins withe the following:

1. William Edward Blythe (1818–1873), married Matilda Chamberlayne (1822-1849), they had seven children
2. Herbert Arthur Chamberlayne Blythe (aka Maurice Barrymore

Is Herbert Arthur one of the seven children of William Edward Blythe & Matilda Chamberlayne? If so, in the family tree down below there should be a line from William and Matilda to Herbert. Instead, William's name just hangs there along side Herbert's with no notion of the relationship to anyone else. Ileanadu (talk) 00:09, 3 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Family tree 1

[edit]

I love how hard it is to read on IOS because many of the family names are one letter per line 2605:A601:AE11:C200:9199:6BB2:4176:8C93 (talk) 22:58, 1 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
