Neutrality
[edit]Err... I saw that the neutrality was disputed and was referred to the talk page which was quite empty. Does that mean that any dispute is resolved? I also checked the history of the talk page, but no entry looked like it had enough bytes to contain a heated discussion about Barry Hall (knowing the length disputes take here). I propose removing the POV tag. Regards, 77.250.234.174 (talk) 20:07, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
Premiership winning captain
[edit]I am following Wikipedia:Manual of Style (lead section), The emphasis given to material in the lead should roughly reflect its importance to the topic. Being premiership captain is important to his career, I do have Australian rules footballer after it so I do not know what is the problem? You need to start to editing this article, it needs to be bigger do not make this a big deal, there are bigger issue than this. Please edit the article, thank you. GuineaPigWarrior (talk) 17:40, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
- The lead section is more than just the opening sentence.
- MP:MOS states "The article should begin with a declarative sentence, answering two questions for the nonspecialist reader: "What (or who) is the subject?" and "Why is this subject notable?""
- Simply, he's an Australian rules footballer, notable for playing in the AFL. That's all that is needed. Being a premiership captain can be mentioned elsewhere in the lead.
- Also can you please stop removing the WP:Hatnote, it's there for a reason. Jevansen (talk) 09:02, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
- What he said. And what does "most best forward" mean? When I think of Barry I think of a big powerful goalkicker, not a premiership captain, not a Brownlow medal votewinner, not an international rules player. They may be important things and should be mentioned, but not before everything else. And if I wasn't Australian I'd probably think of the other bloke, so stop reverting the hatnote. Please read and understand what WP:OWN means. You've been blocked once (I think) for the Port edit war, don't do it again here. Read what we write, not just what you wrote. The-Pope (talk) 09:38, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
Do be hypocritical. That is non of your bussiness I was suspended. Alright, I'll let you WP:OWN this page and just leave and not do anything else to it, I want to see you edit this page and make it bigger not this silly little war which is "SO" little. Because I'm adding "little" things and you have to remove them and start a big war over it instead of just editing the page and making it bigger. GuineaPigWarrior (talk) 21:55, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
- You said that you want to "discuss" things - then please do so instead of whatever your comments above are meant to be. Afterwriting (talk) 13:39, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
- OK, lets step this through point by point.
- I don't WP:OWN the article, I've made two recent edits, you've made 14 in the last 8 days. I'm happy for anyone to contribute an improve the article. You seem hung up on getting a few particular points across.
- I would hope that after being suspended you might think about what got you suspended and avoid doing it again. You reverted 3 times to one version, made one valid edit then reverted twice more. I think technically that's a WP:3RR breach, and it definely editwarring, which got you a week in the sin bin three weeks ago.
- On to the content. Do you really have a problem with the hatnote to Barrie Hall?
- Are you happy with the current wording of the opening paragraph covering the major points - he plays Aussie rules; for the Dogs; considered a good forward; won All Australian, lead the club goalkicking many times(not happy how that reads - if anyone can improve it, please do) and captained the Swans to a flag.
- Next para goes into more detail - starts off with the Saints, then the Swans, then the high profile. Maybe could add the Int rules section here, as he also was co-capt of Australian I think.
- Then the controversy.
- I don't want to make this page "bigger". I want to make it clear to read, follow a logical structure and provide a decent coverage of the player. That's it. We aren't reverting you because you are adding "little things", we are reverting you because you aren't reading what we are adding, and are simply reverting us, taking the article backwards.The-Pope (talk) 16:14, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
- OK, lets step this through point by point.
Do not mention my suspention, that is non of your bussiness, I find that very annoying you noising in my bussiness when that has not got anything to do with you. GuineaPigWarrior (talk) 22:55, 18 August 2010 (UTC)
Statistics
[edit]Someone needs to add his time at the bulldogs to the stats section. I cant remember the number of games, goals etc. 203.45.254.129 (talk) 05:09, 27 August 2014 (UTC)
