Reconsidering name?

[edit]

Are the authorities connected with this path going to continue to memorialise an imprisoned drug dealer, or will they be renaming it? Kevin McE (talk) 09:20, 5 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't heard any serious proposal to rename it, but I guess anything is possible. --Scott Davis Talk 14:41, 5 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Update Barossa Council is apparently going to consider it this week, so we shall see. They might just stick to "Barossa Trail" for the whole length from Gawler to Angaston. --Scott Davis Talk 13:57, 9 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The council has now voted for the name change. I've noted this in the article. There's an Adelaide Advertiser article about it but it's behind a paywall. Cordless Larry (talk) 07:36, 25 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Kevin McE and ScottDavis, would you be interested in helping me to update the article? The whole trail is now called the Barossa Trail now, whereas before that was the name of just the part of it that wasn't called the Jack Bobridge Track. We just need to find a way of explaining this without making it too complicated. Cordless Larry (talk) 08:54, 26 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Cordless Larry Yes, I'll help (but might take a few days to do properly). I can see The Advertiser article, and the barossa.com website has already been changed (but has a few broken links still). Clearly we need to move the article and update the lead, but keep the history that part of what is now the Barossa Trail used to be the Jack Bobridge Track. --Scott Davis Talk 15:39, 26 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I think I'm done now - including updating Wikidata and OpenStreetmap. --Scott Davis Talk 11:17, 27 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
