First Baron Michael rather than Thomas?
[edit]I've added a link to Rayment (cited by earlier editor), which says Thomas Poynings was summoned to Parliament 23 April 1337,[1] and Cokayne's contrary position, which is that Thomas Poynings was summoned to 'a council of prelates and magnates'. According to Cokayne, Michael Poynings was the first Baron Poynings, being summoned to Parliament from 20 November 1348, 'whereby he is held to have become Lord Poynings' (p. 661). - I've now renumbered the barons and revised the text of the article to conform to Cokayne. NinaGreen (talk) 03:07, 20 September 2013 (UTC)
