[edit]Just started the article to eliminate red link. Could use more on:
- His music (I just picked the 'hit' singles from one of his bios, don't know his actual stats or which are his truly memorable pieces, also know nothing about his style, influences etc)
- His history with the Bentall family, and why he's so insistent on downplaying it
- His environmental/community service angle - I only vaguely remember reading that he's very committed to 'issues'... don't even know which ones, or if I remember correctly
- Influences, influencees, notable collaborations, awards, current whereabouts
- Birthday and year etc. His 'official' site says something about being born 'Barney Franklin' somewhere in the islands (which probably means the Gulf Islands), but I'm pretty sure that's bunk --Anchoress 06:44, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
It is very difficult to find information or even albums. MP3 downloads are impossible. Any information on his new album is nowhere. I saw him and the Legendary Hearts live Summer 2005 at the Nakusp Music Fest and I was blown away. Since then I have been trying to track down information. The hits are all good, anything off of greatest hits is great. I also own "Gin Palace" and "Till Tomorrow" and there are a few other really good songs on there. Check out "Atikokan Annie", "Secrets In Your Heart", "Shoulder Of The Road", "Love Is Gone", and "You Should Be Having Fun". I think he wants to downplay his family history because he doesn't want anyone to really think his success was "bought" by his family. Barney's passion is music, his family business isn't a main concern of his and shouldn't be of his fans either. I've never posted on here before but I would love to make a really detailed Barney Bentall wikipedia page. I just don't really know how. I added the line about his new album.
The discography on his web page is all unorganized. The tracklistings are for the wrong albums and the Till Tomorrow album cover is incorrect. A decent discography for this site would be a good place to start. Anyone willing to help?--Johnnyrenegade 11:21PM, 24 May 2006
I can tell you one thing. He wasn't born in 1978. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.246.2.9 (talk) 20:19, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
