Shouldn't the lowest taxon be the one with the page?

[edit]

Should:

  • page: Mushroom bacilliform virus
  • redirects:Barnaviridae, Barnavirus

Is:

  • page: Barnaviridae
  • redirects: Mushroom bacilliform virus, Barnavirus

@Webclouddat: it should be at Barnavirus, with Barnaviridae and Mushroom bacilliform virus as redirects. The rule is to use the lowest taxon, but no lower than the genus. See WP:MONOTYPICFLORA and WP:MONOTYPICFAUNA (viruses obviously aren't flora or fauna, but there's no reason viruses, bacteria, fungi and protists should be treated any differently). You can't move an article over a redirect if the redirect has multiple edits. This article was at Barnavirus from 2005 until 2015, so there are substantial number of edits to both titles.
