Barking Floodgate or Floodgates

[edit]

Barking Floodgate or would it be: 'Barking Floodgates'? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 5.67.231.251 (talk) 17:31, 12 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

About The Gates

[edit]

The west gate is located in Beckton (after walking trhough Beckton Nature Reserve you will end up in the Beckton Sewage Treatment Works where one see the west gate but not reach it as seen by Uy Hoang's drone picture here) and the east gate is located in Barking Riverside via Creekmouth Open Space at River Road though Creekmouth Open Space is currently locked and fenced off until Late 2025 due to The Environment Agency doing maintenance to the flood barrier gate but is a 3 to 4 minute walk via Creekmouth Open Space. The tweet referenced is from last month. Uy Hoang is the person who is single handedly mapped the River Thames and is unsung hero deserving of his own Wikipedia page as his contributions to find walking and cycling routes that are still accessible are invaluable to many people. - 2A02:C7C:FAD9:7A00:E80D:FB7C:B1A1:5AA8 (talk) 10:27, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
