Wikipedia in Swedish, Norwegian (bokmål and nynorsk), Finnish and German all agree that the name Barbro is a female given name. The Swedish version mentions 4 male bearers out of 25 000 with the primary name Barbro, but notes that these four are "estate names", not given names. Thus, I remove the part about unisex.
