[edit]I am confused by the inconsistency within this article. Germany invaded, but the Soviets abducted and offed her father. This isn’t in line with the decree of kidnapping and sending “wealthy capitalists” to Siberia. Also, it’s surprising they kidnapped him and stole his goods instead of offing him there. The Nazis, however, systematically kidnapped and offed Jews during this time.
This source suggests the Nazis offed her father: https://hmh.mwmdigital.com/survivor/63/.
The sequence there claims the Soviets robbed and exiled her and others before the Germans invaded. Then the Germans took over their area of Poland. The Germans invaded in 1939, and sent in Nazi squads in 1941. So I find it hard to believe the Red Army immediately offed her father and not the Nazis in 1941.
I haven’t listened to that entire interview yet, but find this article inconsistent and not quite in line with history. Also, every Wikipedia article I’ve seen about the Holocaust has included antisemitic misinformation. I must remind myself to stop looking here for even general information on World War II and Holocaust history. Elleoneiram (talk) 06:52, 4 August 2024 (UTC)
- I just edited a bit and linked to this (https://hmh.mwmdigital.com/survivor/63/) as the source, but didn’t add it an endnote, as I’m not sure how… 👀 Elleoneiram (talk) 07:03, 4 August 2024 (UTC)
