The name of this article seems to be wrong. "Bao yu" only refers to abalone in general. This should be merged with the abalone article. Any ideas/comments? — *H¡ρρ¡ ¡ρρ¡13:30, 29 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The problem is that every dish cooked with abalone is loosely called Bao yu. The most I am willing to do is move it to Abalone (food). This has nothing to do with the biology article. Is like putting every chicken dish into the Chicken article. Benjwong15:09, 29 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"Bao Yu" just means abalone, it's not a general term for dishes that include that ingredient. It's used in the same way that "Chicken"/Gai/Jie is used for Chicken dishes. In my opinion, this article shouldn't exist. Not unless you want to create an article for every Chinese translation of an English word. Dyl (talk) 03:08, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with merging this article with Abalone, under Consumption. There is no need for this article which is only about how the Chinese consume it.
