I going to be in the area during Aug and Oct is there a more exact location on where they are. Gnangarra 06:16, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Um, bit tricky. It has flowered. I will upload my photos tonight. The place where they are is on a station and they had quite a few visitors through recently and the situation is a bit delicate. My photos aren't great and I will ask a friend for some better ones.Cas Liber 06:22, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There's more information in the links, especially the "a significant new discovery" one. It doesn't much help that the official type record is
"near Mount Magnet [exact location withheld for conservation reasons], Western Australia, 4 September 2001, K. Alcock 902 (holo: PERTH; iso: MEL, NSW).

Foprgot to add, I think the flowers will be finished by then unless there is some major winter rainfall in the area. Cas Liber 06:29, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

to do

Distribution:

  • Understand "in the Murchison Region of the Austin District in the Eremean Province". Should Wikipedia have articles on Murchison Region, Austin District and Eremean Province?
  • mention elderiana as the other arid zone species
  • clean up second paragraph
  • rainfall of area - only cyclonic - average?
    • Marriott: "... surviving on an average rainfall of only around 8-10 inches or 30-40mm per year. In fact many years pass with little or no rain - when we visited Geoff advised us that that had had only 6mm over the last 12 months!"

Ecology

  • three references still needed.
