Article quality

[edit]

The article is absolutely absurd. The Banque de France has been a major player in the world economy for over 200 years and it is treated with contempt or incompetence. This is the worst Wikipedia entry I have ever seen. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.97.194.138 (talkcontribs) 17:55, 27 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"Protestant" has been replaced with "Jewish" by vandals.

[edit]

In the "History" section of the article, the word "Protestant" has been replaced with "Jewish" by vandals. It still says "Jewish" as of July 14, 2014. Until recently it said "Protestant". Reference 1, which is the source for this section, says "Protestant" on page 515. To say "Jewish" is absurd historically, for the late 18-th century French banking. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.91.53.178 (talk) 00:25, 15 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

dates

[edit]

Hmm. Seem's like this article is sub-par in general, but I might as well ask why it says it's founded in 1796 but then says 1800 in another place?--75.18.188.52 (talk) 05:01, 27 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Banque Generale

[edit]

shouldn't this article include the history of the precursor of this bank, the Banque Generale, founded by John Law in the early 1700s? — Preceding unsigned comment added by BountyFlamor (talkcontribs) 09:20, 14 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Moving the page name to "Banque de France"

[edit]

We would like to move the page name from "Bank of France" to "Banque de France". There are two reasons for this:
- "Banque de France" is indeed the official name that is used by the international financial institutions and international economic organizations even when speaking English
- the German central Bank is named "Deutsche Bundesbank" - why would it be named after the German name and not the French name?
Many thanks and looking forward to your replies. --EncycloEco (talk) 07:54, 14 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

first old original classic former national French currency

This turn of phrase is unbelievably frustrating. I'm gonna go back through the history logs and figure out when it was added. Ellenor2000 (talk) 05:17, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Cripes, the whole paragraph was added recently (see this: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Bank_of_France&diff=prev&oldid=1133836511). I've had a crack at minimal editing. Ellenor2000 (talk) 07:28, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
