This paragraph was in the article:
- The Municipality of Tongkil now is known as Banguingui Municipality. The Mayor, Hadji Abdulwahid O. Sahidulla thought of changing it from Tongkil to Banguingui in honor of the dominant Banguingui tribe who lives in the then Tongkil Municipality. The renaming took place in Barangay Poblacion Luuk sometime January 29, 2006 and graced by prominent personalities like Former Governor Margarita "Ting Ting" delos Reyes-Cojuangco, Datu Zahir M. Mamalinta, son of the then PNP Regional Director of ARMM Police SSupt. Akmad Mangelen-Mamalinta, ARMM Chief of Staff Ulama Acad, and some Generals of the AFP.
I couldn't find any internet sources to back this up, and there are only a few sources that refer to "Banguingui, formerly Tongkil". The NSCB, which is probably the authority on this, still calls the town Tongkil. I'm going to leave in a line saying the municipality was renamed, but I'll give it a "citation needed" tag. --Coffee 03:36, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
