I eliminated a couple political/editorial comments. The article is not the place for them. They should be in the Discussion section.

If whoemever wrote them, wants to add them back in, please add some context or back up.

Specifically eliminated the statements "One thing that will never change is the great pride people have being from here. Not all Ballyporeen citizens share this view however." Seemed to just be a debate between two posters, rather than a factual statement.

10/03/2011 I have completed a major edit of the Ballyporeen entry over the last week, I have attempted to keep as much of the original content and structure as possible but I have made some deletions. I deleted reference to the Civil Parish and the Barony (Iffa and Offa West) as these divisions are historical have long been superseeded. I also deleted reference to the writer of "Hey Ronnie Reagan" as it is a seperate subject from the village. I have left reference to the Reagan protests but a seperate wiki entry for "Reagan's visit to Ireland" should be considered. this would be a more appropriate location for details of support/foreign policies/protests/songs etc.

Good work! One reservation is the complete elimination of reference to the historic barony. As one of the editors that have consistently lobbied for the reduction of prominence of refs. to baronies on Irish place articles, perhaps it does not belong at the lead, but may be appropriate in a history section? Most towns and village articles make mention of the barony, and it is often important to know when doing historical and genealogical research.

Thanks Rashers Tierney for the feedback and for your previous welcome message.

I have now included reference to the barony in the history section and if users feel it should be given more prominance it should be re-considered for the lead, it is an interesting debate regards historical/genealogical purposes. Perhaps a future Info box template will also include it. Padraigobrian (talk) 12:19, 10 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

After reading the discussion page on the Skeheenarinky entry, there may be a conflict of interest here for this entry.I operate and write the ballyporeenvillage.com site, I have taken some text in the history section directly from it. Note however there is no copyright notice on that site. Ballyporeenvillage.com is also linked from the entry and the infobox. Padraigobrian (talk) 14:48, 11 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

From a quick perusal, I don't see any major issue here so far. Keep it in mind though for future edits and perhaps indicate here first if you intend a major revamp. Any chance of uploading a photo or two to Commons for inclusion here and other articles on the local area? RashersTierney (talk) 15:12, 11 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

(talk) 15:12, 11 March 2011 (UTC) ok, thanks for looking. If anyone has any issiues, let me know. Yes,I have a photograph of Skeheenarinky school which i will be uploading this weekend for that particular entry. I will upload a few more from the general locality that be may be of use to other editors — Preceding unsigned comment added by Padraigobrian (talkcontribs) 15:40, 11 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
