Split
[edit]The article should be split as Ballyblack is the name of two separate locations - one between Greyabbey and Newtownards, where the church is located; the other near Portaferry, in the parish of Ballyphilip, for which there is the place name reference. I don't know if the first is two townlands or one townland in two parishes; the Ballyphilip one is a townland. Peter James (talk) 15:03, 10 April 2021 (UTC)
- It's been some time since this thread was opened, and -- absent any other input -- I have determined to simply remove the stuff relating to the townland near Portaferry (Ballyphilip CP in Ards Upper BY). And restore the scope of this article, as seems to have been the original intent, to cover the townland near Newtownards (Greyabbey CP and Newtownards CP in Ards Lower BY). As noted, the article shouldn't otherwise be trying to cover two different subjects in two different baronies, which are separated by 20+ miles. And tied only be a similar name.
