Mylar balloon

The aluminized baddie balloons used for parties these days are not expanded when filled, just inflated, and so are not under much pressure at all. My experience is that when helium filled they lose lift far more slowly than latex balloons, partly because the container isn't trying to collapse, and partly because aluminized Mylar is far less porous to helium than latex is. (I expect the aluminization fills in the holes!) The current section on physics ignores this sort of "non-inflated" balloon completely. Jeh (talk) 10:40, 21 October 2018 (UTC)
