Is the flared cross considered a balkenkreuz?
[edit]Does the term balkenkreuz include the flared cross used by the modern-day German military and also seen on WW1 aircraft? This article strongly suggests that the term is specific to the unflared (uniform-width arms) cross used up to the Nazi Wermacht. However, in other places the term includes the flared versions as well. (https://www.quora.com/Does-Germany-still-use-the-Balkenkreuz) Paul Richter (talk) 13:03, 23 April 2023 (UTC)
- @Paul Richter well depending on if I fully understand what you mean and that is the right symbol in the article, then you infact mean the bundeswehr emblem. this emblem was and is used as the modern army's insignia, according to the wiki page for the bundeswehr it was established as a group in the 1950s. however I am not aware of any use if it prior to that time. - perhaps even you may be referring to the schwarzkreuz for the aircraft. I can definitely see that as an easy mistake they are very similar Geinky (talk) 22:15, 9 May 2023 (UTC)
