No such town
[edit]I have lived in Oceanside, NY (one town west of Baldwin) for 31 years, long enough to porve to you that there is no such town. when you are in Baldwin you see signs saying Welcome to Baldwin not Welcome to baldwin Harbor. so there is evidents that Baldwin Harbor is only a section of Baldwin, this article will be redirected to Baldwin, New York immeidatly. Yes such "town"
[edit]The above statement is entirely incorrect. Neither Baldwin nor Baldwin Harbor are "Towns", both are hamlets (and census-designated places), or in other words, unincorporated areas of the Town of Hempstead. Some hamlets (like Oceanside) have a ZIP code bearing their name, some (like Baldwin Harbor) do not. Signs placed by local groups such as the Chamber of Commerce, HOAs, beautification groups or even Dept. of Transportation Highway signs are not a reliable indicator of correct geography. Subdivision of unincorporated areas in Nassau County is established by the Nassau County Planning Commission. Accurate maps of local communities are available from either the Nassau County Dept. of Assessment or the United States Census Bureau. A detailed explanation of the geographic divisions of New York State can be found here. --Nymetropolitans (talk) 07:27, 11 December 2009 (UTC)

The Town of Hempstead does NOT recognize Baldwin Harbor as a hamlet - See this. The Town considers it part of the hamlet of Baldwin. The US Census Bureau has split the area into 2 CDPs. The following places are also not recognized as hamlets:
- North Woodmere - enclave - -
- East Garden City - CDP - -
- Lakeview - CDP - -
- Malverne Park Oaks - CDP - -
- North Lynbrook - CDP - -
- North Wantagh - CDP --JimWae (talk) 23:03, 9 June 2010 (UTC)
