The article hatnotes say that these are two different places, but that appears to be false — it looks like Balamu is a typo or variant spelling for Balamau. The 2011 census handbook for Hardoi district does list a village named Balamu, but no Balamau, while it also mentions a train station of Balamau. This is the closest I can find to a source claiming that these are two separate places. However, the 1961, 1971, and 1981 editions of the handbook each list both a village and train station called Balamau, while "Balamu" doesn't appear at all. The old British gazetteer of Hardoi district likewise describes Balamau as a village with a train station, with "Balamu" again not mentioned.
I'm not sure if this counts as WP:SYNTH because I can find no source that explicitly says that these are the same place, but from what I can tell: 1) there is a single village called Balamau, which has a train station, and 2) the "Balamu" in the 2011 census handbook is just a typo for Balamau. For that reason, I propose to merge the Balamu article into Balamau.

- Withdrawn — OK, it looks like I didn't read the sources closely enough. There are in fact two places called Balamau, but one is a village and one is a train station. According to the gazetteer, the Balamau train station is four miles northeast of the village called Balamau, and is actually in the village of Kachhauna instead. "Balamu" still seems to be a typo, so I'm going to move that page to a new title and then redirect the current title here. 3 kids in a trenchcoat (talk) 03:11, 15 June 2021 (UTC)
