[edit]Can Iowa City really be called a "major city" compared to Seattle?67.168.128.168 08:14, 31 December 2005 (UTC)
- I wouldn't say so today, though it was the larger of the two by far when Gatzert came to Seattle. - Jmabel | Talk 06:01, 20 October 2009 (UTC)
Gatzert Foundation for Child Welfare
[edit]Reminder to self or others: when working more seriously on this, follow up on Gatzert Foundation for Child Welfare. Originally eugenics-related (I believe) it was established as a memorial by Schwabacher relatives, and according to [1] as of 1919 represented the single largest donation that the University of Washington had ever received. Might belong mostly elsewhere (Schwabacher Brothers or an article of its own), but certainly worth following up. Still active, gives scholarships. - Jmabel | Talk 06:01, 20 October 2009 (UTC)
