Is this for real?

[edit]

This article doesn't seem like a valid wikipedia article, rather it appears to be written as someone's project. Quotes like "has variously been called the world's most sentient robot" and referring to the robot as "she" are hardly taking a neutral point of view on the subject. Does anyone know more about this? Soupisgoodfood (talk) 04:29, 18 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The article states that BINA48 runs at 48 exaflops and was released in 2010. Tianhe-2 runs at 33.86 petaflops, and was considered the world's fastest supercomputer in June 2013. It seems like BINA48 is a thought experiment for a mock-trial about disconnecting a sentient machine. It might be a good idea to mention that somewhere, but I don't know of a source that directly verifies my suspicions 2607:EA00:104:2400:D938:407C:F9BE:8D8D (talk) 16:55, 8 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This article appears to have been completely written by username Lori Rhodes. Lori Rhodes is also, according to http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2608254/Life-purposeful-death-optional-God-technological-love-essential-The-new-tech-inspired-religion-uses-mindfiles-satellites-store-soul-future-revival.html, one of the people who runs Terasem Movement, the group behind Bina48. Clearly, there needs to be something about Bina48 on wikipedia, as it does have news coverage, but this isn't it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 100.40.152.40 (talk) 02:04, 19 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This article has many of the same issues Sophia (robot) did early on, specifically describing the robot from the perspective of its creators' promotional materials and press releases as opposed to one more aligned with the current state of the art of chatbot software. This includes implicitly referring to the robot as a living being, referring to it as "her" as mentioned earlier (also note the article inconsistently uses both "it" and "her"), and generally skimming over the major limitations of the robot such that the average reader would assume it is far more capable than it actually could be. 2600:100A:B02A:DAFD:DD68:D976:2593:86DE (talk) 05:23, 28 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Martine Rothblatt's wife Beverlee "Bina Aspen" Prator - source

[edit]

A connected contributor, RothRep, has reverted for no legitimate reason and deleted valid source(s). RothRep deleted that Bina's real name is Beverlee (see source below), and IP 66.151.103.11 has done the same thing.

Edit: As of September 24, they have had the name changed on the gettyimages.com website from "Beverlee Prator" (the real name that was published on September 09) to "Bina Rothblatt". 12.30.109.2 (talk) 13:45, 24 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Criticism section

[edit]

The criticisms should be merged into the main text. Wikipedia style is to not have a section to dump all the bad things said about the article's subject. Ashmoo (talk) 09:11, 1 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
