Notability

[edit]

Considering this is an article about a Korean band, it may be helpful for people to remember that Wikipedia Korea also has a page for B1A4. Keep up the good work! Snowclrops (talk) 21:06, 21 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia Korea is entirely independent of en.Wiki. The English language Wikipedia is also known to practice far more exacting standards than even some of its European counterpats (France for example). Comparing it to the Korean Wiki is unfortunaltely an otherstuff exists rationale. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 06:44, 22 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

My comparison to Wikipedia Korea on the articles for deletion page was part of a comment to suggest why I had confidence that within a short period they'd be notable. It wasn't intended to be an argument which is why I called it a comment and specifically said it wasn't supposed to be proof. Furthermore, I've managed to demonstrate two of the three things I predicted (music show, charting, and variety show) within half a week, a much shorter period of time than I mentioned, so I think it was a justified comment. My reference here is because originally Wikipedia complained when I was going to delete my comment on this page and consequently clear the page. I decided this would be a more productive comment to leave instead. I left it here to remind people that the page is about a Korean subject matter and thus if the page is out of date, it may be very useful to check the Korean page for more information or links since as Korean speakers they may be better informed about the subject matter (even if you can't read it, you can sometimes still pick out stuff). I know that I hadn't considered such resources and thought it may be helpful to someone else on a later date. Snowclrops (talk) 03:09, 25 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
-but only if they assert notability according to WP:GNG and WP:BAND. However, encyclopedias deal with facts - generally things that have already happened. You might fond WP:CRYSTAL and WP:BURDEN interesting. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 05:54, 25 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'd appreciate it if you don't rewrite over my comments, I consider that very rude, plus it makes it really hard for other readers to realize that the bulk of that passage was written by me and that you just decided to change the last few lines. And quite frankly I don't know what you're talking about. Literally. Recently, I used a page on Wikipedia Korea in order to find the homepage of the band because the English article didn't include it and search engines often seem to ignore foreign sites. Using sources found by other people is a perfectly decent way of finding sources. Snowclrops (talk) 22:18, 25 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
(Edit glitsches restored). I'll just mention again that it might be more helpful if you would base your arguments on the inclusion criteria and policies practiced in the English language Wikipedia. Please now read WP:CRYSTAL and WP:BURDEN. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 08:46, 26 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The idea of an openly editable encyclopedia is to constantly expand it's content into every small but notable part of knowledge and this does that. This type of article shows that Wikipedia goes into every small gaping hole of knowledge and takes it. And I can very much assure you that they will do well as TVXQ because they started small and grew to be one of the biggest in Asia. Remember the one rule in Asian mainstream music: Evey artist gets their limelight. 86.14.37.203 (talk) 16:52, 27 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Actually that idea is a popular misconception. Anyone who has read the founding philosophy of Wikipedia and the rules before posting new articles will know differently. I'm afraid that constantly appealing to our emotions will not help bend those rules. Here's another link for you: Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not. Hope it helps. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 09:11, 28 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Firstly I was not appealing to anyones emotions, secondly if that's what Wikipedia is not then a lot of the articles here are completely irrelevant to Wikipedia's aim and purpose. And there is no misconception unless this isn't an encyclopedia at all, if so then Wikipedia's slogan is wrong is it not? Plus the statement on their "It is not a paper encyclopedia, it is a digital encyclopedia is irrelevant; it's like saying a film camera has no similarities to a digital one, seems like nonsensical talk. peter spering 14:07, 28 April 2011 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pesa123456789 (talkcontribs)
And that's another thing, if your uncooperative and impudent attitude carries on, I shall be making it known to higher powers.peter spering 22:02, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

Orphaned references in B1A4

[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of B1A4's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "gaon":

  • From Dal Shabet discography: "Gaon Chart Search" (in Korean). Gaon Chart.

  • From Crash (B.A.P song): "Gaon Chart - Search - B.A.P". Korea Music Content Industry Association. Retrieved July 26, 2012.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 09:53, 31 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

CNU (singer) deletion

[edit]

Several of us have wondered where CNU's wiki page went. As I have some experience with Wiki I researched the edits and found it had been posted for deletion and a consensus was to remove based on the fact he had NO activities outside B1A4. This is untrue, as he has acting and musical credits.

I would like to request his page be undeleted. If links for verification are needed, those can be provided. He performed as Anatoly in Chess The Musical in Korea just a few months ago (June 19th to July 19th 2015) as his debut into musical acting. It was in many articles including Soompi, Allkpop, etc. He also played on a Korean television drama "I Need A Fairy", http://www.koreandrama.org/i-need-a-fairy/

Please undo his deletion so we may continue to update it with his ongoing individual activities.

Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hjlyon14 (talkcontribs) 00:00, 24 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
