First O-10 promoted "into"?

I'm not confident enough to be bold here just yet. Shouldn't this read "the first general officer promoted in the new service"? It appears Lt Gen Thompson was the first to be promoted to O-10 upon assignment into the new Space Force, whereas General Raymond was the first O-10 assigned to Space Force. I'll wait a week after the change of command for all the requisite edits and, if no one has objected, I'll change it to "in." I'll applaud anyone more bold than I if they make the change first! @Rsnbrgr: I have no problem with your suggestion. It should be noted though that by "the first general officer promoted into the new service" it comprises all general officer ranks, not just O-10s. Thompson was indeed the first general promoted into the new service, but Saltzman was the first O-9 (and the first of all general officers) promoted. Aha, much appreciated! My research project (which improves both Wiki and USAF's old bios as a side effect) focuses on O-10s, hence I don't always remember to think about other FOGO grades.   • In 1996, Saltzman was selected for the Air Force Intern Program where he was assigned to Air Force office of the director of intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance and the Air Staff History Office. Add a comma after Program. Add "the" after "assigned to". Capitalize the title of the USAF office; it appears to be a proper noun.

  • In September 2016, General David L. Goldfein outlined his three priorities as chief of staff of the United States Air Force, among them is advancing multi-domain, multi-functional command and control. The part after "Among them" is a sentence of its own. The comma before "Among" should be a semicolon, and maybe "was" instead of "is"
