ʿAzīz-al-solṭān → Aziz Al-Soltan – Because his Persian name ( عزیزالسلطان) sounds like Aziz Al-Soltan Kidsonthemoon (talk) 15:21, 12 November 2021 (UTC)
- Support see his name in this book: "Crowning Anguish: Memoirs of a Persian Princess from the Harem to Modernity" . Kidsonthemoon (talk) 10:39, 13 November 2021 (UTC)
Opposeas I don't see "sounds like" as a basis for article titles. — JohnFromPinckney (talk / edits) 13:32, 13 November 2021 (UTC)- Support now that I've looked at WP:MOSAR mentioned below and learned that I knew/know too little about Arabic names and transliterations. The lead (such as it is) will need to be reworked per that MOS page, too. — JohnFromPinckney (talk / edits) 05:23, 23 November 2021 (UTC)
- Support some move, per Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Arabic we shouldn't use the apostrophe to start an article title, and shouldn't use a strict transcription here at all. There is no spelling change proposed, just removal of diacritics and standard capitalization. User:力 (powera, π, ν) 21:39, 19 November 2021 (UTC)
- Support see [1]. You don't usually use phonetic transliteration in English sources. It can be mentioned in the article that his name is pronounced like ʿAzīz-al-solṭān, but it should not be in the title of the article itself. WatABR (talk) 03:12, 23 November 2021 (UTC)
