Find the paradox..
[edit]Aysel Tuğluk = member of the Human Rights Association?! (And she was or is a TERRORİST's lawyer?!)
and
She previously acted as a lawyer for Abdullah Öcalan(Who is he? a leader, yes a leader of a TERRORİST ORGANİSATİON)
Search for Abdullah Öcalan
Abdullah "Apo" Öcalan (born April 4, 1948) is a Kurdish militant leader, who in 1978 founded the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK).[1] The PKK is listed as a terrorist organization by a number of states and organizations, and has been leading an armed campaign inside Turkey since 1984, with the intent of creating an independent Kurdish state. Öcalan has been imprisoned by the Turkish state since 1999 on İmralı Island in the Turkish Sea of Marmara. —Preceding unsigned comment added by ErdoganBora (talk • contribs) 09:00, 29 December 2009 (UTC)
- When a lawyer defends an allleged criminal in court, that in no way implies the lawyer is a criminal. And it's fundamental to a lawyer's job that she accepts she's bound by the laws that are to be enforced by the court. Thus I see no paradox in an lawyer being a big believer in human rights on the one hand, and defending an alleged terrorist on the basis of the laws of the land on the other hand. By the way, I couldn't find a reference anywhere on the Internet to support the statement at Wikipedia that Aysel Tuğluk was employed as a lawyer for Abdullah Öcalan, and if somebody doesn't insert a reliable reference for it pretty soon I'm going to delete it. HDP deputy co-president
[edit]These sources say she was vice co-chair of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) in 2016 [1], 2017 [2] and 2018 [3]. On March 2018, she was described by Hürriyet as "former HDP deputy co-chair" [4]. Does someone know the exact dates? Wakari07 (talk) 01:10, 8 January 2020 (UTC)
