Links to non-notable awards
I agree with the removal of these links, they don't seem notable by Wikipedia standards. Dayewalker (talk) 16:43, 21 July 2011 (UTC)
- Hmm... the stuff that's trying to be added are all the awards earned by films he made. So I took a look at the page for Steven Spielberg to get a sense of what's suitable to be listed. For instance, under the BAFTA awards section it mentions Close Encounters of the Third Kind as a nomination for Best Direction and Best Screenplay, but not Best Picture. On taking a close look at the ET credits, Spielberg both wrote and directed the film, but it was produced by Julia Phillips & Michael Phillips. Based on that I'd seen there I'd say the stuff he's directly done is appropriate, so directing is a easy add. The acting awards earned by people who were in the film is an easy removal. If it can be shown he was one of the producers for a given film, then nominations for Best Film (or similar) would be also be an easy add. Tabercil (talk) 20:27, 21 July 2011 (UTC)
- The "Best Picture" type awards aren't really the issue. It's the larding up of the article with awards that aren't at all noteworthy (the "TLA Raw" award, for example, is given by an online retailer to products it's selling/advertising, and news coverage appears limited to press releases, hosted on avn.com and mirrored elsewhere.) and with awards someone else won in connection with the picture (eg, "Best Original Song", which is credited to one "Drew Rose," probably a pseudonym but, judging by published credit lists, not one of Axel Braun's). Practice here seems rather ckear. Hullaballoo Wolfowitz (talk) 10:25, 22 July 2011 (UTC)
