Naomi Watts

[edit]

Hmmm. Not sure about including her. Is an Australian Grnadmother a bit too tenuous? Indisciplined 23:03, 27 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Clive James

[edit]

Why isn't he in this list?--Jeff79 (talk) 23:33, 13 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Because the people who want him on the list can't be bothered to add him. Cop 663 (talk) 00:36, 14 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move

[edit]

Disputed - Petre Andre is not an Australian

[edit]

Petre Andre should not be listed here. He is not an Australian citizen and does not hold an Austrlaian passport. He is British and never took out Australian citizenship when his family moved to Australia. He requires a visa to return to Australia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.6.164.51 (talk) 15:04, 23 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well, he's regularly described as Australian by the media, as evidenced by Google News. Cordless Larry (talk) 18:41, 23 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Australians in BritainAustralians in the United Kingdom — Since the requested move above failed to reach consensus, the format "Fooians in the United Kingdom" has become standard on Wikipedia (see Category:Ethnic groups in the United Kingdom). Moreover, whereas Britain is ambiguous, as evidenced by its status as a disambiguation page, United Kingdom is not. Cordless Larry (talk) 12:06, 24 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why are these two people included on the list of "notable individuals" just because they had a parent born in Australia? This doesn't mean that they are also Australians and surely no one could suggest that they are ever seriously considered to be so. Winston Churchill had an American-born mother but no one would ever consider Churchill to have been an "American in the United Kingdom". So unless some valid reasons are provided otherwise then both Jagger and Bacon should be removed from the list as their inclusion seems ludicrous.
