RfC: Page title capitalised or not
- The following discussion is an archived record of a request for comment. Please do not modify it. No further edits should be made to this discussion. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
Should the title of this singer's page be capitalised? Btljs (talk) 10:26, 17 December 2015 (UTC)
- Not sure Names are often written in all caps on releases. It's not necessarily to imply that the name is intended to be all caps, it's just part of the writing style. That being said, I'm not sure what is in use here. I went straight to MOS:CAPS for clues, and found MOS:ALLCAPS; the closest thing on that list that this title resembles is "acronyms & initialisms", which does not appear to be the case here. I'm inclined to only capitalize it as a proper noun. Zeke, the Mad Horrorist (Speak quickly) (Follow my trail) 00:53, 18 December 2015 (UTC)
- Yes - If the page name was Aurora Aksnes then I would not agree with capitalizing the letters however, she identifies as AURORA so I say keep it that way. Meatsgains (talk) 00:24, 19 December 2015 (UTC)
- Everything on that website is in caps. I know the page name displays as "AURORA | Official Website", but all-caps displays aren't unusual in cases like this. What about this source confirms that this is how she stylizes it? Zeke, the Mad Horrorist (Speak quickly) (Follow my trail) 04:57, 19 December 2015 (UTC)
- Considering it is her personal official site, I'm assuming this is how she would like it to be stylized. Meatsgains (talk) 18:28, 19 December 2015 (UTC)
- Assumptions count for very little. As Zeke said, most of that website is written in capitals, including the name of her latest album. nagualdesign 03:35, 5 January 2016 (UTC)

- Comment Are there any other people who use all caps for their performance name where this is not based on initials? will.i.am uses all lower case - which I suppose is equivalent. Btljs (talk) 10:40, 19 December 2015 (UTC)
- No - According to Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Music and Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Trademarks, the name shouldn't be capitalized. Myxomatosis57 (talk) 11:04, 19 December 2015 (UTC)
- No. Should be moved back to its previous title per the MOS. --Michig (talk) 12:39, 19 December 2015 (UTC)
- No, per WP:MOSTITLE. See precedent set at Tune-Yards, Chvrches, Odesza, etc. — foxj 22:30, 22 December 2015 (UTC)
- Any objections if I close this and move the page back to Aurora (singer)? Btljs (talk) 08:27, 5 January 2016 (UTC)

Translation request
There's a lot of material that can be translated to this article from the Spanish Wikipedia. I worked on it so I can say all the content is verified. The issue with this version of the article is the redaction itself and that it is highly outdated, and also there's a lot of information about Aurora's personal life and early years that is not included and should be. Please, if someone has the time it would be a great contribution. You can check out the article in Spanish: https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aurora_Aksnes --JBOOK17 (talk) 23:31, 13 August 2018 (UTC)
Infections of a Different Kind (Step 1), EP or album?
It has come to my attention that Infections of a Different Kind (Step 1) has been re-classified as an EP. It is not. It is intended to be the first half of her second album; alternatively, it is her second album, (if you consider A Different Kind of Human (Step 2) her third). Furthermore, at a running time of 33 minutes and a track listing of 8, it explicitely contradicts the definition given in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extended_play . The sources that are given are not authorities on the matter: it is listed as an album on both iTunes and Spotify, and one can find a plethora of sources wherein it is referred to as an album (her reddit AMA comes to mind – https://www.reddit.com/r/popheads/comments/9ln1y2/hello_popheads_ask_me_anything/). It was inteded as an album, it is long enough to be considered one, and it is too long to be considered an EP. I therefore request that we elevate it to the status of album once more. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:4643:BB7A:0:95CB:9660:E980:5063 (talk) 19:11, 6 June 2020 (UTC)
- It's the first half of a whole album on EP format. Here's a reference to it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5zX1TpCTP4. However, it can technically be both, but the release fomat also implies it's an EP; only digital with some limited physical versions (released a year later), the promotion was rather small compared to Step 2, and -in consequence- so was the investment. So, for me, it's correct to call it an EP. --JBOOK17 (talk) 03:11, 10 July 2020 (UTC)
??
i added that aurora had autism with the link to the video/documentary, i don’t understand why that fact was removed Crimsonnosmirc (talk) 22:37, 19 February 2021 (UTC)
- @Crimsonnosmirc: I was the one who reverted the edit – I read through the translation of the documentary and couldn't find any confirmation of a diagnosis. The only thing hinting toward that was that she mentioned friends teasing her because they thought she was autistic. I may be missing something, though? As an autistic person myself I do suspect she is autistic but that's not something that should be included in an article without a concrete citation. Tacava (talk) 16:51, 10 March 2021 (UTC)
she definitely mentions she IS AUTISTIC (in norwegian) i don’t understand how you can miss that when she said it and yes i have high functioning autism myself too Crimsonnosmirc (talk) 00:29, 11 March 2021 (UTC)
- @Crimsonnosmirc: She has never mentioned that she was diagnosed with autism, in the documentary she expressed assumptions of the kids from her school. She had good Mensa test results and she was weird, so her schoolmates concluded that she was autistic. Zidreddin Zidron (talk) 05:36, 11 March 2021 (UTC)
what part of “she said she was autistic in her native language” don’t you understand? it doesn’t matter if she addresses whether or not she was diagnosed because she legit said she is autistic herself in that documentary at 22:15. Crimsonnosmirc (talk) 17:07, 11 March 2021 (UTC)
- @Crimsonnosmirc: If you hear in the middle of the sentence "I am X", if doesn't necessarily mean that this person is X, it's just a part of bigger sentence. There's another translation from Norwegian native speaker: https://aurora-daily.tumblr.com/post/645207661531529216/has-aurora-said-anything-about-being-autistic Zidreddin Zidron (talk) 06:15, 12 March 2021 (UTC)
Personal life
Is there any good reason the rather irrelevant matter of her sexuality being the very first thing mentioned before anything more important like her family and musical background? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 47.12.161.150 (talk) 13:51, 5 August 2021 (UTC)
Missing
I’ve read the whole Wikipedia page but don’t see anywhere Aurora’s part in Sky: children of the light (game) is mentioned? She does vocals for the game and there’s even currently a season (event period) that’s based around a current collaboration with her. She’s mentioned in the Sky wiki but not here and I was just wondering if that was an oversight or left out on purpose? Thank you for all the work you do though !!! 24.100.139.161 (talk) 09:09, 30 October 2022 (UTC)
- It could be added if there are reliable sources reporting on it. TylerBurden (talk) 14:27, 1 November 2022 (UTC)
- i hope to see it added evenually 170.249.172.34 (talk) 16:52, 8 November 2022 (UTC)
