Comment. With wildfires in 7 states, this article should not be titled "2016 Nevada wildfires". This article should, IMO, be expanded with ongoing information, then refractored and split to only include information about Nevada. 27.115.113.102 (talk) 04:30, 5 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
This article is not eligible for speedy deletion. It should be kept, but it should just cover Nevada, as the title suggests. Alternatively, its title should be changed to include a much wider area. There are several separate fires, not one fire that stretches across several states. Jim Michael (talk) 10:20, 7 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@GWA88: I've declined the speedy since there is some news coverage of this in the article, so it stands to reason that there might be more media coverage out there. This doesn't mean that this wildfire would pass overall notability guidelines, just that it passes A7, which is actually relatively easy to pass - there only needs to be an assertion of notability. Now that said, if this is something that will be kept at AfD, the article will either need to be rewritten to focus solely on Nevada or retitled to encompass the other states, since it looks like it's happening in several states at once. This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... (speedy deletion templates should not be applied twice to one single article) --Jax 0677 (talk) 02:21, 7 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
