It's also how we've tended to do elsewhere in Aus to my knowledge (for one example see List of South Australian state by-elections and the Albert by-elections of 1897). I could live with the parenthesis but I much prefer the month-in-front solution. (Later edit: I think it might be sitewide actually: see also this year's Spanish and Israeli twin elections.)
