Your opinion

[edit]

Your opinion of a show is very interesting. This is not the appropriate place for it.

Unless you can provide sources for your claims that this show will win prizes, I think it's better to leave them out. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Scobiedont (talkcontribs) 12:37, December 7, 2007

Character Descriptions

[edit]

Should these be here? I can understand the basics, but these plot points (and spoilers), some of which aren't 100% accurate, seem misplaced. What do you think? SixFourThree (talk) 19:39, 27 March 2008 (UTC)SixFourThree[reply]

I have ordered the play and am awaiting it's arrival. I will make the corrections when the play comes. 216.6.245.167 (talk) 14:16, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Tony Award Section

[edit]

"I hate to spoil it but it has to win the Tony Award "Want to see a sure thing? Look no further. Tracy Letts, whose theatrical dysfunctional family is on par with Eugene O’Neill’s Tyrone clan, has already brought home a truckload of awards, including the Pulitzer Prize. Make way in the trophy case." http://www.broadway.com/gen/general.aspx?ci=565769"

While your enthusiasm is appreciated, this is not the place for something like this. The show has not won these awards, the awards have not been announced. It's not to be put here until it is a sure thing. The nominations have been documented, that is all that has a place there. A message board may be the proper venue. Tone of the article

[edit]

This entire aticle sounds more like a gushing publicity blurb than an objective article. Even the plot summary sounds as if it had been written by a publicist. I have changed some of those sections. AlbertSM (talk) 16:05, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

i changed a bit more to make steer the article toward the play as a work of literature rather than the incidental productions and lists. --emerson7 19:41, 2 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Explanation of title and subtitle

[edit]

I think it would improve the article if there was some explanation as to why the play is titled "August" and subtitled "Osage County". It's a bit unorthodox and seems to me oddly inverted. Robert K S (talk) 03:43, 20 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The play isn't "subtitled" anything. The title of the play is "August: Osage County". As for the meaning, it takes place in Pawhuska, OK (Osage County), during the month of August. Hans404 (talk) 23:39, 23 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I have added a section explaining the origins of the play's name (albeit a few days ago and as an anonymous user).--Kipkerplunk (talk) 22:58, 9 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Incomplete Production Listings

[edit]

If someone would please add within the production history its run at the American Convservatory Theatre (ACT) in San Francisco. I believe it was in 2009. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.92.49.76 (talk) 14:09, 1 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
