The link in ref. 3 is not working. I have found the article at https://kuscholarworks.ku.edu/bitstream/handle/1808/8336/Selden_A%20spider%20and%20other%20arachnids%20from%20the%20Devonian%20of%20New%20York.pdf?sequence=1 but I am not sure about whether any link is fine, or if it has to be an "official" one. --Richardson mcphillips (talk) 04:30, 31 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

attercop vs. attercopus

[edit]

I was redirected to 'attercopus' when I was looking for 'attercop' so I was wondering whether it might not be appropriate to state in the article that the word 'attercop' is not only a British dialect word for spider, but has also been immortalized in The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien, Chapter 7 "Spiders and Flies." 98.14.15.215 (talk) 06:06, 14 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I very much doubt that anyone looking for the meaning of "attercop" should come to this article! Maybe a headnote is the answer. Peter coxhead (talk) 07:52, 14 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
