I have removed material from this article that does not comply with our policy on the biographies of living persons. Biographical material must always be referenced from reliable sources, especially negative material. Negative material that does not comply with that must be immediately removed. Note that the removal does not imply that the information is either true or false.

Seems highly editorialized
[edit]There are coverups of assassination attempts on US and other nation's presidents all the time, yet I don't see anyone here attempting to cast them as "a classic example of obfuscation and disinformation." It just seems as though the editor is taking what would otherwise be a pretty typical event and making it seem different because it happened in the Soviet Union and fits a narrative. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.48.224.74 (talk) 03:12, 18 December 2012 (UTC)
- As the editor who wrote that, I'd say that I'm not trying to "cast" things in any particular color. It is simply a fact that the virtual news blackout regarding the assassination attempt was regarded as a coverup by most Western (at least English-speaking) observers. It is described as such not only in the two sources cited, but in most of the other references as well. The article text neither supports nor denies this interpretation, but only points out that it has been a commonly-held view. SteveStrummer (talk) 03:51, 18 December 2012 (UTC)
- "Western" media is currently in a state of heightened propaganda war against Russia, so this is the reality we have to live in for now. -G — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.29.133.166 (talk) 00:33, 22 January 2017 (UTC)
- No, not even in Canada, but thanks for ignoring the TP rules about WP:FORUM. 104.169.17.29 (talk) 09:27, 22 January 2017 (UTC)
