Lifted restriction
[edit]Apparently with Dwarfstar, Rip Hunter and Ryan Choi's use of the Shrinking Belt the restriction that permitted only Ray Palmer to use the shrinking equipment without losing cohesion and die seems to be lifted. Musn't we puntualize it somewhere in the article? DrTofu83 13:26, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

character reference on Dharma and Greg TV show
[edit]Something someone may want to add to the article -- The season 4 episode 21 of Dharma and Greg was broadcast yesterday on WeTV, titled "Pride and Prejudice." It featured a college pal of Greg's named Ray Palmer. Yes, it may be a fairly common name, but in this episode Ray is a little person. I doubt this character sharing the name of a superhero who shrinks is coincidence, considering all the references on "Big Bang Theory" and both shows were created by Chuck Lorre. 96.253.122.221 (talk) 09:57, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
Poorly Done
[edit]This article is about the silver age atom, but almost all the references are to very recent stories and episodes. Suggest it all be tossed and a restart made.66.87.4.192 (talk) 22:39, 29 June 2011 (UTC)
Arrow
[edit]The section on his appearances in Arrow is way too large and detailed.. adding undue weight to the article.. Should be seriously trimmed and doesnt need its own section.Spanneraol (talk) 04:02, 21 November 2014 (UTC)
- In actuality, if you check the views for this article most, recently, have been viewing the Arrow sub-section. Hence its own heading. The sections text is concise and informative. It appears bias/opinion may be at play her, in which Wikipedia does not indulge. If you are concerned about unneeded "weight" to the article, there is an abundance of it in the Character Biography section. Cheers, LLArrow (talk) 07:43, 21 November 2014 (UTC)
- You are a victim of recentism, we dont go by page views in areas like this. I think your bias is at play here. All similar articles use the live action/animation subheadings. No reason at all to make this one different. People looking for information on Arrow should look at that page, not this one. The article is about the comic character not the tv show character. Spanneraol (talk) 13:02, 21 November 2014 (UTC)
- After further thought, I'm inclined to agree with you. It is a violation of recentism. However the section remains concise and informative, therefore the content should remain as is. Cheers, LLArrow (talk) 23:15, 21 November 2014 (UTC)
Jean Loring
[edit]A partner/accomplice in Ray Palmer's early adventures, or more of a supporting character? I've looked up info on the old comics lately and I feel it's more heavily geared towards the latter. The role she played was not similar to what Steve Trevor or Mera or Larry/Kurt Lance or even Sue Dibny meant to their romantic counterparts (as in they do/did most things together side by side), it's more akin to a Mary Jane Parker or a Pepper Potts or an Iris West. In other words, I find her to be lacking agency in relation to the primary protagonist and more of a passive supporting character in the strictest sense. Additionally, Jean hasn't really been at Palmer's side after the 1960's and even before his first ongoing series ended its run, and probably better known for her fairly complicated recent history as a deranged villain. Arrow section way too large
[edit]Seriously, this article is primarily about the comic book character... the section on "Arrow" is getting way out of hand.. we dont need a play-by-play of every plot development on the show.. that should be in the Arrow characters article or a Ray Palmer (Arrow) article.. this section is getting updated every episode with the latest trivial plot developments and it shouldnt be. Spanneraol (talk) 18:04, 30 January 2015 (UTC)
- Good luck getting consensus. The page has benefited greatly from the presence of the Arrow info. There is not nearly enough info to support an entire article for the character yet. BTW, if you think Ray's is overly extended check out here and here. Cheers, LLArrow (talk) 06:51, 31 January 2015 (UTC)
- Those are all too long.. you keep adding minutia.. why is the information about Felicity and the helicopter worth noting.. you have been adding everything he does... "in the next episode, Ray ate a cheeseburger.." it really is silly. Spanneraol (talk) 15:29, 31 January 2015 (UTC)
- You obviously do not watch or care about the subject matter at hand. Cheers, LLArrow (talk) 17:55, 31 January 2015 (UTC)
- That is precisely the wrong way to convince other editors of your point of view, LLArrow; by awkwardly suggesting that they are either idiots or apathetic only serves to alienate others from your cause. Please try to be more polite.
- Neither Spanneraol nor anyone else needs to know anything about the subject matter. Most people come here to learn about a new topic. Most people edit a page not because they are fanboys, but because they are noting something wrong with the form the article is taking. In this case, the Arrow stuff IS too long, and I've endeavored to trim it accordingly.- Jack Sebastian (talk) 05:03, 1 March 2015 (UTC)
- Welp, it would appear that LLArrow reverted it right back to its previously bloated version. Perhaps LLArrow can tell us all what he finds wrong with the trim, and why. Until tha ttime, I've reverted it back to its trimmed form. Perhaps it might be best to keep it in that form, as two editors currently think the previous version was far too long. - Jack Sebastian (talk) 05:06, 1 March 2015 (UTC)
- The information is incitement and concise. Soon a character article will be created and we won't have to worry about the information being on this one. Your version was on the complete opposite end of the spectrum. Far too little info for such a substantial character on Arrow. Cheers, LLArrow (talk) 05:12, 1 March 2015 (UTC)
- Er, I think you might be using 'incitement' incorrectly, LLArrow; unfortunately, I am unsure of what you are actually trying to say.
- As for my edit, you might want to take a stroll on over to our essay on how to write a plot summary; please pay particular attention to what plot summaries are not. After reading that, please point out those parts I trimmed that you feel are crucial to the understanding of the Atom as he is portrayed on the Arrow tv show. - Jack Sebastian (talk) 05:24, 1 March 2015 (UTC)
- LLArrow seems to not understand the meaning of "concise"..anyway I like the new version that Jack did much better.. this page should summarize the main points and shouldnt be a point by point plots summary... thats better suited (and already exists) on the Arrow character page. I have the same issue with LLA's work on several other comic book character pages related to the Arrow plots. Spanneraol (talk) 14:58, 2 March 2015 (UTC)
- You obviously do not watch or care about the subject matter at hand. Cheers, LLArrow (talk) 17:55, 31 January 2015 (UTC)
Fiancé vs fiancée
[edit]I've switched a term from fiancée back to fiancé, as per typical French usage of both terms. A fiancé is a man who is engaged to be married. A fiancée is a woman who is engaged to be married. Since we are talking about a male who's betrothed was killed, the masculine form of the word is the correct one to use. - Jack Sebastian (talk) 17:22, 1 March 2015 (UTC)
- I undid your edit. An engaged woman is a fiancée, so Ray Palmer was a 'fiancé', and had a 'fiancée'. AJeiEM (talk) 02:54, 3 March 2015 (UTC)

Atom vs Ant man ? who is the smallest
[edit]Looking at these in a kids perspective First of all let's define atom . Atom is the smallest piece ever live in the planet .So atom is one of the smallest scientific approved. Ant,what is ant? Ant is an insect also known as the most hardworking animal in the world. That why they say as hardworking as an ant. But back to the topic, the reason they choose ant as a small thing is because comparing an ant to a man is a lot of gap so that why they choose ant man as a small hero. In conclusion, according to me ... Atom is the smallest super fictional hero ever. Babatunde Feranmi (talk) 22:05, 29 August 2018 (UTC)
