Islands Beyond the Horizon
[edit]A comparable book is Islands Beyond the Horizon: The life of twenty of the world's most remote places by naturalist Roger Lovegrove. It describes 20 islands from the perspective of natural history and human impact on the environment. It includes three of the same islands mentioned in Schalansky's work (Ascension Island, St Kilda, Scotland, and Tristan da Cunha) plus 17 more. The complete list of 20 is:
