Notable list entries
[edit]Notable list entries need to have their own article. This is being challenged by user:Alansohn who used as an edit caption less than one day ago at List of people from Englewood, New Jersey "(remove individual from list of notables, who needs both a Wikipedia article **AND** independent reliable and verifiable sources establishing connection here, as specified by WP:NLIST)". OK, Alansohn, why does this rule apply differently for you and for other editors? Jacona (talk) 19:28, 17 March 2016 (UTC)
- There is a Wikipedia article for both and a reliable source establishing a connection to the school. The listing of individuals in lists of notables for redirect articles is standard across Wikipedia in thousands of articles. Again, thanks for discussing and not resorting to edit warring. It's a big step forward. Alansohn (talk) 15:01, 18 March 2016 (UTC)
- First, there were no redirects when I removed the entries. Your assertion in your edit caption that my removal was improper, then later creating them and then making the statement above gives me reason to question your good faith. Thank you for not repeating your posting of vulgarities and racial epithets here, as you did most unwelcomely on my talk page, please never post there again, unless required to do so by Wikipedia policy. Secondly, a redirect to a very-thinly sourced promotional article about an organization does not confer notability on the subject; notability is WP:NOTINHERITED. You could yourself take a big step forward by exhibiting good faith and civility. We're not in a hurry, if you would like to establish articles for the Blumberg's, I'm happy to see them stay on the page. Jacona (talk) 15:35, 18 March 2016 (UTC)
