Incredible Film Adaption of a Magnificent Novel

[edit]

The novel is intense, complex, and intricate. The craft of Conrad is shown by the author.

The film is rich, sumptuous, breathtaking, beutiful and disturbing. The casting is nearly spot on (Quinn isn't as plain as the character in the book) and the performances brilliant. This film did not get the attention it deserved, partially because its length and complexity. Repeat viewings (or reading e book--the details and significance of them are easily overlooked against the visual backdrop of the film) bring a greater appreciation.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.73.1.89 (talk) 19:15, 22 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Budget

[edit]

Not sure if the AFI catalog is a reliable source but it claims the budget is $30-$36 million. (Box office mojo and the-Numbers.com do not list a budget figure.) -- 109.77.214.47 (talk) 05:39, 6 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
