This article does not meet the good article criteria, nor is it close. Specifically:

• Large portions of the article is unreferenced, including many [citation needed] tags.
• There are two valid maintenance banners
• The article is unstable. It is undergoing a heavy upgrade, including a rewrite to avoid POV.

I am failing the article. Once it has been fully referenced and the order of information sorted out, a renomination may be suitable. Arsenikk ^(talk) 12:51, 4 March 2012 (UTC)

Some additional points for improvement:

• Construction details, how is was carried out.
• More on the dam and power station specifications.
• Sediment deposits in the reservoir - is 500 years bad compared to other dams in the region?
