OK, that seems to be everything. Chiswick Chap (talk) 20:16, 23 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It's a well-written and well-structured article that I'm satisfied meets the GA criteria, so I'm passing it. Many thanks, Chiswick Chap. Regards, BennyOnTheLoose (talk) 20:20, 23 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Copyvio check

  • Earwig's copyvio detector threw up some 45.1% matches; these are accounted for by the attibuted (pear-eating) quote ans a couple of phrases that are OK per WP:LIMITED. The same quote is responsible for matches of 44.4% and 43.8%. I reviewed the other matches over 5% and no issues with those either - reasons for awards and some brief WP:LIMITED text.
  • Noted.

Images

  • Looks like the infobox picture needs a US PD rationale.
  • Added.
  • The 1924 picture has a US PD rationale
  • Noted.
  • Astrid Lindgren signature.svg - use here seems consistent with what I've seen in some other articles that include signature images, so I think the rationale is OK.
  • Noted.
  • The other images are PD or CC.
  • Noted.
  • Images are relevant with suitable positioning and captions.
  • Noted.
  • Optionally, ALT text could be added (MOS:ALT)
  • Noted.

Biography

  • Optionally, could vary the start of either "She was the daughter..." or "She had two sisters..."
  • Done.
  • Spot check on She had a relationship with the chief editor and became pregnant, causing a local scandal. - no issues
  • Noted.
  • I'm not sure about the use of the phrase "In due time" here.
  • Gone.
  • The ceremony was described as "the closest you can get to a state funeral." - maybe attrribute this quote? (Looks like the source is in Sweden's paper of record, so no issues with that.)
  • Done.

Career

  • this experience has been cited as an inspiration - worth mentioning who cited it?
  • Done.
  • one of the most beloved children's books in the world - we have one good source for this, which will do, but I wouldn't mind another good source added, given the nature of the claim.
  • Added.
  • Spot check on While Lindgren almost immediately became a much appreciated writer, the irreverent attitude towards adult authority that distinguishes many of her characters has occasionally drawn the ire of some conservatives - no issues.
  • Noted.
  • Could the two one-sentence paragraphs be combined?
  • Done.

Politics

  • she attracted criticism from Social Democrats and even from her own colleagues, - I don't have access to the source and I was a bit unclear about who "her own colleagues" were in this context.
  • Edited.
  • In 1979, a law was introduced in Sweden prohibiting violence against children - I can't see the source but it looks like Lindgren may be credited as an influence o that outcome; if so, the connection could be more explicit.
  • Added.

She spoke against corporal punishment of children. feels like it could be worked into either the preceding of following sentences; but no change is required.

  • Done.
  • From 1985 to 1989, Lindgren wrote articles concerning animal protection and mass production in the Swedish magazines Expressen and Dagens Nyheter along with the veterinarian Kristina Forslund - the intended meaning is clear, but consider rewording
  • Good catch, done.

Honors and memorials

  • Illis quorum - optionally, add a few words in the text about what this is.
  • Added.
  • Its entry on Lindgren was makes it look like that's her entire entry, but I'm guessing it isn't.
  • Edited.

Works

  • Many of her books have been translated into English by Joan Tate - not really supported by source used.
  • Removed.
  • Filmography is a bit terse; consider adding something like the earliest adaptation, or mentioning a particularly notable film, or the TV series
  • Done.

See also / Notes / Further reading / External links

  • Optionally, be consistent in the format of the further reading items.
  • Tidied up.
  • Could add ISBN's for Strömstedt, Metcalf and Ingemark
  • Fixed.
  • Should we keep the authorscalendar.info, famousauthors.org, and falcon.jmu.edu external links?
  • I think authorscalendar is innocent enough; ditched the other two.

Sources

  • "Astrid Lindgren Dies at 94". The Washington Post is missing the author.
  • Added.
  • Cineuropa ref is missing the author.
  • Added.
  • What makes Lioness at Large a suitable source?
  • Replaced.
  • Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award is a blog, but is the official one, so OK.
  • Noted.
  • Some references are incomplete, e.g. 30 "Lex Lindgren"; 47 "Dictionary of Minor Planet Names – p.256"
  • Cited.
  • Optionally, be consistent in whether to include publisher location
  • Fixed.
  • Optionally, make refs 51 and 52 consistent
  • Edited.
  • Ref 54 - the DiVA portal main page is down. Is there a way to vertify that the Sundmark source is suitable?
  • Seems to be working fine now. It's a good source.
  • Any more details available for Steffensen, Anette Øster (2003)?
  • Added.
  • What makes allmogens.se a suitable source?
  • It's a typical site in the style of AllMusic, informing the public about entertainments.

Infobox and lead

  • Refs in the infobox are not required as the info is cited in the text. (WP:INFOBOXCITE)
  • Moved.
  • It's a bit unusual to see several cites in the lead, but not prohibited. Consider including everything in the body text and having it cited there.
  • Moved.
  • Perhaps add some info from the Politics section into the lead.
  • Added.

General

  • Knowing very little about the subject beforehand, I was slightly surprised by the relative sized of the politics and career sections, but this seems reasonable.
  • Yes, I think it reflects her life appropriately.
