Assyrian music

[edit]

I dont know about the past, but modern Assyrian music has alot of Kurdish influence. Many songs are sung in both languages. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kurdalo (talkcontribs) 12:31, 4 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Makam

[edit]

What is the relationship between the makam of Turkish music and those of Assyrian music? If they aren't closely related, I suggest linking to makam (Assyrian) here and on the other pages (makam, maqam) and putting the relevant information there. If they are similar to the Turkish ones, then there should be information added on that page (i.e. the opening sentence should be "...in Turkish and Assyrian music..." and usages which differ should be explained in the course of the page. (If no one is sure in the meantime, I think the latter is the safer option). Rigadoun 15:38, 31 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
