Charity?

[edit]

The article says that AfPP is a registered charity, but the organisation's website doesn't mention this, and I can't trace it at the Charity Commission website at http://www.charity-commission.gov.uk . Is it a charity? If so, what's its number? (I'm working through Category:Charities based in the United Kingdom, adding links to charity registration info using a new template) PamD (talk) 09:57, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Now found it, and added template to link to Charity Commission. PamD (talk) 14:48, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Negative Effect

[edit]

Looks like adding this to Wiki projects has had a negative effect, as well as removal of the links to Yorkshire and Harrogate all the articles disappeared, Sledge hammer editing by the Delete button / AfD school.

Found the Medical projects now but not much left for any one to work with. - --BulldozerD11 (talk) 12:17, 16 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Check the edit history:
  1. you added it to various projects
  2. someone came along, edited it a bit, then apparently realised it appeared to be a straight copyvio and put on a speedy tag
  3. I removed the speedy tag and the bulk of the text which was copied from the society's website, leaving the skeleton info in the infobox and ext links, and adding a key statement about their aims from their website. Not what I'd call sledgehammer editing, but a defence from the whole article being speedy-deleted as copyvio! An anti-deletionist move, in fact.
  4. Feel free to add back any info in your own words. You say "not much left for any one to work with", but all the former content is available on their website.
  5. As I've said at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Yorkshire I personally don't think the project needs to include every national organisation which happens to have its HQ in Yorkshire (wouldn't expect the London wikiproject to do the equivalent), but I didn't remove the banner, just opened a discussion. Association for Perioperative Practice

[edit]

Shouldn't Association for Perioperative Practice be the main page and AfPP be the redirect?--  Darth Mike  (Talk Contribs) 05:39, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Good point. Done. (I only visited this page to add my new UK charity template to it, working through Category:Charities based in the United Kingdom ... it seems to be taking up far too much time!) PamD (talk) 07:11, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image

[edit]

The image Image:AfPP.JPG claims to be uploaded by the copyright holder. The user Afppweb is the uploader, but should we get proof that he/she is indeed the copyright holder?--  Darth Mike  (Talk Contribs) 21:50, 19 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Other meaning of afpp

[edit]

In the article Perceived visual angle afpp is mentioned, meaning Apparent fronto-parallel plane. It may be better to create two disambiguation pages [[afpp]] and [[AFPP]] and add the two descriptions. 83.85.143.141 (talk) 13:57, 14 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
