They might be in reality, but in WP but we're currently using the 2012 census data which indicates that they're not. This section over on Suriname demographics has all the stats in a nice, easy to access table. The key thing to note is that Chinese ceased to be a category in 2012. Luckily, it's possible to confirm where Chinese people are recorded in 2012, as the 2012 census includes 2004 data but with 2012 categories. So we can see that 2012 restatement of 2004 Other (6.5) is made of Amerindian (3.7) + Chinese (1.8) + White (0.5) + Other (0.5).

The following is OR, but it's clear from these official figures that, assuming White, Amerindian & 2004 Other are roughly the same as in 2004, when the population was 493k, that the maximum Chinese in 2012 is ~18k, or 3%. Bromley86 (talk) 17:22, 2 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
