Nomadicghumakkad can you explain how this is promotional? I'm not sure how it is myself, I saw a red link at Vic Mensa discography and i found some sources, so I used them to make this article. --versacespaceleave a message! 12:41, 4 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi versacespace. I was on a fence to speedy this. Good you contested. Let's see what others feel. My reading was She was signed to Jarrad Rogers' label Noize Recordings - this is a non-notable label but name of Jarrad Rogers has been used to assert prominence. Notability can't be inherited so this unnecessary assertion (for me), feels promotional. s a child, Ashwarya spent much of her time with her family. She would often perform in her own home. Adds no value to the article or notability. The whole quote given also is an attempt to promote rather than talk actual factual encyclopediac information about her. I don't think she would meet WP:NMUSICIAN and I might PROD or AFD it. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 12:50, 4 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Nomadicghumakkad: oh, that's interesting. Well, I wasn't using it to assert notability, I just thought it was important to say she was signed in the lead. versacespaceleave a message! 12:52, 4 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
And I also didn't add the early life section to assert notability. i added it because I thought it was important to cover. her notability lies in her discography, not her early life. versacespaceleave a message! 12:53, 4 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I see what you are saying but even from discography point of view, I am not able to see notability. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 12:55, 4 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. I hope you understand that 3+ independent reliable sources speaking of her music career provides proof of notability, since there are three of these sources in the article. Nomadicghumakkad versacespaceleave a message! 13:02, 4 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I do. But I am not seeing three that are not just routine announcements, interviews etc but proper discussion of her work. Nomadicghumakkad (talk) 13:27, 4 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi versacespace, you are right. This might not qualify for speedy. But like I said, I don't see it crossing the notability either. For convinience of closing admin, I have done an analysis here:

Link and Source Name of source Reliable Other Remarks Contributes to?
Meet The Artist: Melbourne’s ASHWARYA On Creating Her Unique Global Pop Blend From Home Oyster Mag 9 Other wiki articles cite it. No Existing discussions on WP:RS. Looks more opinionish. I am leaning towards not an RS. Also, this particular source is very much an interview and feels like written from a fan point of view. Nil
ASHWARYA shares debut single ‘Psycho Hole’ New Musical Express Yes. As per Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard/Archive 318#New Musical Express / NME / www.nme.com This looks more like an announcement. The article repeatedly says as per a press statement and is probably a rewrite of a release and hence independent. Nil
Ashwarya announces headline tour, shares futuristic visuals for ‘To the Night’ New Musical Express Yes. As above. Another announcement full of quotes and likely to be written from provided material. WP:BASIC at a strect
Listen to Ashwarya’s eclectic new single ‘Biryani’ New Musical Express Yes. As above. Slightly better than above. It is an announcement. Can count for WP:GNG
Ashwarya links up with Vic Mensa for new single ‘To The Night’ New Musical Express Yes. As above. Another announcement sort of article with quotes and saying as per a press statement. WP:BASIC at a stretch
Ashwarya is the genre-blending Gen Z popstar you need to know Fashion Journal Doesn't seem to be a reliable source. An interview. Nil
COMIN@ME - Single Apple Music Primary Source (as rightly pointed out by the creator) Nil

How did this pass notability ? When EmiwAy Bantai isn’t and Ramiz King? Positiveilluminati (talk) 13:33, 17 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
